              ——用英语怎么“笑”

笑是人类最美好的语言，是化解矛盾的最佳武器，是消除尴尬的良药。中文中表达“笑”有许多不同的方式，如：微笑、偷笑、奸笑、冷笑、苦笑、开怀大笑、会心一笑、忍俊不禁、眉开眼笑、又说又笑、含泪而笑、哄堂大笑、皮笑肉不笑、似笑非笑、贻笑大方……举不胜举。那在英语中，该如何笑呢？

经过整理分析，IBS小编得出了以下笑法。

1、Smile

Smile是最常见的笑法，表示微笑。与Smile相关的有以下短语：give a charming smile嫣然一笑，give a soft smile莞尔一笑， give a faint smile是淡淡一笑，give a false/ crafty smile皮笑肉不笑的假笑， smile from ear to ear是满脸笑容，笑容可掬是be radiant with smile，苦笑是smilebitterly，强颜欢笑是squeeze a smile。

He greets somebody with a genial smile.表示他对某人笑脸相迎。

2、Laugh

Laugh常用来表示笑出声的笑，程度大于smile，哈哈大笑laugh heartily， horse laugh大声狂笑， laugh foolishly是傻笑，暗中窃笑是laugh in one’s sleeve/ beard， laugh one’s head off是笑掉大牙，笑声阵阵是burst into laughter，忍俊不禁是simmer with laughter 。

The jokes made everybody laugh.那些笑话逗得人们笑出声来。

3、Grin

Grin表示露齿而笑，咧嘴笑。

如：They grinned with delight whenthey heard our news.

他们得知我们的消息时高兴得直咧着嘴笑。

He grinned a welcome.

他露齿而笑表示欢迎。

4、Giggle

Giggle表示自然开怀地笑，咯咯地，傻笑，情不自禁笑出声来。

如：I get the giggles whenI'm nervous.

我紧张时就不停地咯咯大笑。

We only did it for agiggle .

我们做那件事只是开个玩笑而已。

5、Snicker

Snicker指的是偷笑、窃笑。

如：They snickered at Jason.

他们暗暗嘲笑。

The shuffle and snicker that became the comedian' s trademark.

搅和与窃笑成为喜剧演员的标志。

此外，还有各种特殊的笑。

如：笑面虎　anoutwardly kind but inwardly cruel person
    笑里藏刀　show a gentle and friendlyexpression but nurse a vicious intent

被人笑话　make a fool of oneself on the spotand make others laugh

    传为笑柄　be spread as a standing joke
    僵硬的笑、面无表情的笑   a brittle laugh

    贻笑大方　incur the ridicule of experts
