When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand , the professor said : "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up , leavingbehind the plain and cheap ones . While it is normal for you to want only thebest for yourselves , that is the source of your problems and stress .

Nowconsider this : Life is the coffee ; the jobs , money and position in societyare the cups . They are just tools to hold and contain Life , and the type ofcup we have does not define , nor change the quality of Life we live .
Sometimes , by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee Godhas provided us . "

There’s a man who has been by himself in a prison cell with a dirt floor, crude stone walls, and there’s two windows one of which looks out towards the ocean. All of the sudden, he hears a scratching noise, and he looks down at the ground that is furthest away from the window facing the ocean. He sees the ground moving, and he starts to think he's losing his mind. But soon the ground breaks, and up pops a head with long hair and a beard... it’s a prisoner.
And the prisoner says “Sssh. Listen. A group of us have been tunneling for about six years, and we’ve finally reached your cell. We have ways to cover up my entrance into this, but now it’s all on your shoulders, man. All you have to do,” he said while pointing out the window towards the ocean, “you just start digging here and go down about six feet and about 75 feet in that direction and there is freedom, and we're out of here!” “Oh, I love that! That’s great；I want to be free!” “Okay, I'll check back with you in a few weeks.”
Two weeks later, the pops back in to check on his friend’s progress, and his friend nods back with great affirmation. “Yeah, I’ve done it.” So the man who was providing the instructions pops down the hole, and two seconds later pops right back up and says, “What have you done?!?!?” “Huh?” “I told you to dig in the direction towards the OCEAN! A fellow pilot flying over the Midwest heard an air-traffic controller trying to contact an airliner for normal frequency change.
“Flight 354，“said the controller，"contact Kansas City Center on frequency 135.5.“
The request was repeated several times with no reply from the pilot.

I was four, playing outside in the humid Kentucky air. I saw my grandfather’s truck and thought, Granddad shouldn’t have to drive such an ugly truck. Then I spied a gallon of paint. Idea! I got a brush and painted white polka dots all over the truck. I was on the roof finishing the job when he walked up, looking as if he were in a trance.

The king became very angry when he heard what the camel said. He said to the animals angrily, “Maybe somebody of you tell lies. Three people have three ideas. I want to kill you. ”Just at the moment, a fox came out to stop the tiger from doing that. He asked the tiger himself to go to see it before killing them.
After the tiger saw the palace himself, he thought that their answers were all right. He said to the animals, “To see with one’s own eyes is more important than only to hear others. ”
The wolf and the fox want to eat the rabbit, but it wasn't easy to catch him.
One day the wolf says to the fox, "You go home and lie in bed. I'll tell the rabbit that you are dead. When he comes to look at you, you can jump up and catch him." That's a good idea," says the fox.
The fox goes home at once. The wolf goes to the rabbit's house and knocked at the door. "Who is it?" asks the rabbit. "It's the wolf. I come to tell you that the fox is dead." Then the wolf goes away.
The rabbit goes to the fox's house. He looked in through the window and sees the fox lying in bed with his eyes closed. He thinks, "Is the fox really dead or is he pretending to be dead? If he's not dead, he'll catch me when I go near him." so he said, "The wolf says that the fox is dead. But he doesn't look like a dead fox. The mouth of a dead fox is always open." When the fox hears this, he thinks, "I'll show him that I'm dead." So he opened his mouth.
The rabbit knows that the fox isn't dead, and he rans away quickly.

这个故事告诉我们，无论做什么事，都要首先看准方向，才能发充分挥自己的有利条件;如果方向错了，那么有利条件只会起到相反的作用。

一群事业有成的同学回去看望他们的大学老师，很快他们开始抱怨生活和工作中的压力。
老师去厨房为客人们准备咖啡，回来时端着一大壶咖啡和各式各样的杯子，这些杯子有陶瓷的、塑料的、玻璃的、水晶的，有的普通，有的昂贵，有的精致，老师让大家随意享用。
等每个人都端起一杯咖啡，老师说话了：你们注意到吗：所有好看昂贵的杯子都被用了，剩下那些朴素便宜的杯子。你们都只想要最好的，这很正常，这恰恰是你们的问题和压力所在。杯子不会让咖啡的质量变得更好，很多时候，只是让它变得更贵一些，甚至，有时候，让人忽略了到底我们在喝什么。你们真正想要的其实是咖啡，不是杯子，但你们有意识地去拿那些最好的杯子，随后开始打量其他人手上的杯子。想想吧：生活好比咖啡，工作、金钱和社会地位都只是杯子，只是生活的容器，而我们拥有的杯子既无法定义、也无法改变我们生活的质量。有时，由于我们只关心杯子，我们甚至不能够好好品尝上帝赐予我们的咖啡。

and the Country Mouse

I have always worn my children’s birthstones around my neck. One morning, when I was late for work, my infant son Larry’s topaz birthstone fell from my gold chain. I frantically searched for it, whispering to myself, “I lost my Larry, but I will get him back.”
That day, Larry’s cardiologist called with test results from one of his first checkups. He would need emergency heart surgery. Happily, the operation was a success, and I whispered in Larry’s ear, “I thought I lost you, but I knew I’d get you back.”

While walking across an open, grassy field, I became excited as my hand swooped toward the ground like an eagle attacking its prey. I picked up half of a $5 bill.
I continued to walk around looking for the other half but thought to myself it would be impossible to find it on such a windy day.
As I lifted my head, I spotted the other half of the bill tangled in crabgrass. Somehow, finding two halves of a ripped $5 bill felt better than working for a twenty.

I got a brush and painted white polka dots all over the truck. I was on the roof finishing the job when he walked up, looking as if he were in a trance.

The king became very angry when he heard what the camel said. He said to the animals angrily, “Maybe somebody of you tell lies. Three people have three ideas. I want to kill you. ”Just at the moment, a fox came out to stop the tiger from doing that. He asked the tiger himself to go to see it before killing them.
After the tiger saw the palace himself, he thought that their answers were all right. He said to the animals, “To see with one’s own eyes is more important than only to hear others. ”

The clever rabbit
The wolf and the fox want to eat the rabbit, but it wasn't easy to catch him.
One day the wolf says to the fox, "You go home and lie in bed. I'll tell the rabbit that you are dead. When he comes to look at you, you can jump up and catch him." That's a good idea," says the fox.
The fox goes home at once. The wolf goes to the rabbit's house and knocked at the door. "Who is it?" asks the rabbit. "It's the wolf. I come to tell you that the fox is dead." Then the wolf goes away.
The rabbit goes to the fox's house. He looked in through the window and sees the fox lying in bed with his eyes closed. He thinks, "Is the fox really dead or is he pretending to be dead? If he's not dead, he'll catch me when I go near him." so he said, "The wolf says that the fox is dead. But he doesn't look like a dead fox. The mouth of a dead fox is always open." When the fox hears this, he thinks, "I'll show him that I'm dead." So he opened his mouth.
The rabbit knows that the fox isn't dead, and he rans away quickly.
聪明的兔子
狼和狐狸想要吃掉兔子，但是这只兔子太难抓到了。
一天，狼对狐狸说：“你回家假装躺在床上。我去告诉兔子你已经死了。当他来看你的时候，你就可以跳起来抓住他了。”“真是个好主意！”狐狸说。

兔子去狐狸家看情况。他通过狐狸家的窗户看到闭着眼睛的狐狸躺在床上。他想，狐狸是真的死了，还是在假装呢？如果他没有死，那么我走近他就会被他抓住。于是他说：“狼说狐狸死了。但是他看起来并不像死掉了呀。死去的狐狸通常都是张着嘴的。”狐狸听到这些话就想：我得证明自己是真的死了。于是他张开了嘴巴。
这时兔子知道狐狸并没有死，他就以最快的速度跑开啦。
