中学英语时态时态总结之四 – 过去将来时 （The Past Future Tense）
过去将来时在整个英语语法时态中用的相对比较少，看起来概念也有点奇怪。但对于初中阶段的同学们来说，了解和使用基本的过去将来时还是有必要的，只要掌握了下面的要点就不会太过复杂啦。
- 过去将来时的定义
表示从过去的某时间看将来可能会发生的动作或者状态。是基于过去的时间点将要发生的事情。好比我上周说周末会去打球，对于上周来说，周末打球是将来要发生的事情，但是对于这周已经过去了。
Last Friday I told you that I would come to play basketball with Jimmy on that weekend.
我上周五告诉过你我周末要和Jimmy去打球。
过去将来时的基本结构和用法：
1. 主语 + would（should或could）+动词原形
通常用于主观意愿在过去推测看的将来及在宾语从句的结构
She promised me that she would keep the secret.
她答应过我要保守秘密。
否定句形式：
主语+would（should或could）not+动词原形
He told me yesterday that he wouldn’t come with Charlie this morning .
他昨天告诉我他不会和Charlie今早一起来。
疑问句形式：
Would（Should或could）+主语+动词原形?
疑问词 + would + 主语 + 动词原形?
would引导的过去将来时常用于虚拟语气，表示愿望、假设、猜测等含义
What would you do if you were there that time?
当时如果你在场你会做什么呢？ （当时不在场，现在只是假设的虚拟语气）
2. was / were + going to + 动词原形
常用于说话人的计划会发生的事情，或者根据某种迹象推断即将会发生的事情。
He told me that they were going to attend the party tonight.
他告诉我他们今晚打算去派对。
Look outside! It seemed as if it was going to rain.
看外面，感觉好像要下雨了。
3. 用一些瞬间动词 （come， go， leave， arrive， start） 的过去进行时也可以表示过去将来时
She said that she was going to arrive at 8 o’clock tonight.
她说过她今晚8点会抵达。
They promised that they were going to start this project soon.
他们答应说他们会很快开始这个项目。
4. was/were （due / about）to do 用于表示根据计划，安排定于某事做某事
The train was due to leave at early morning.
火车预定于清晨出发。
I couldn’t go to Lucy’s birthday party as I was about to go to hospital.
我没能参加Lucy的生日派对，因为我要去医院。
- 过去将来时和将来时的区别
一般将来时通常用来描述发生在未来的一个还未发生的动作或事件。而过去将来时则用于表示在过去某个时间点对未来的看法。
I was going to tell her the truth, but she didn’t give me any chance.
我想要告诉她真相，但她没给我机会。（在过去发生的）
I will tell her all the truth tonight.
我今晚会告诉她所有的真相。（当下说话人表现对将来的能力、目的和决心）
再来试着比较一组： We were going to play football last Sunday, but it rained.
上星期天我们本想去踢球的，但却下雨了。（上周日是过去发生的，本想做的事）
We are going to play football tomorrow.
我们明天去踢球。（当下说话者表示对明天的肯定安排）
