I’d be happy to tell you about my experiences.

good evening, honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen.

it’s my great pleasure to stand here to present my speech—change the world, change ourselves.

it’s noticable that western holidays are becoming increasingly popular day by day, while chinese traditional festivals are being somewhat neglected. not long before about 10 doctors in beijing university and qinghua unversity announced that we should reject the invasion of western holidays ,because they regard western holidays as an challenge against our traditional festivals and culture.

frankly speaking, i don’t quite agree with them.indeed, we should never neglect or even discard our traditonal festivals as china boasts a brilliant history and splendid traditions. (examples).but why can’t we absorb the meaningful western holidays and culture.

there are obvious reasons why some western holidays are so popular in china. on the one hand, some of the western holidays which we chinese don’t have are reasonable and meaningful, such as father’s day and april fool’s day etc. on the other hand, the prevalence of globalization enables western culture to prevail in china. overwhelmed by such a trend, chinese unconsiciously get involved in western holidays and culture.

with the further development of the whole world, the cultural communication between different countries and nations becomes faster and more and more important. we are indeed from different nations, but we are the citizens of the same world, so the outstanding culture of different nations is the commom wealth of everyone on the earth.the only way for us to protect our traditional culture is to reject the foreign culture? the answer is definitely no. what we ought to do is to spare no effort to educate chinese to get to know and treasure our splendid traditions instead of rejecting foreign culture. only by educating can we set our confidence and belief towards our culture. only by educating can we preserve and promote the wealth that our ancesters left for us.

at last i’d like to share a famouse saying of gandhi with all of you ,that is:if you want to change the world, then you must change yourself first.”

dear friends,
i am very glad to introduce myself to you……that’s all .thank you.

good morning /good afternoon, everyone…...that’s all .thank you.

hi, everyone,

it is so nice to see all of you here……that’s all .thank you for listenin.

常用到的连接成分有:first of all,secondly,finally等等。

常用到的句式有:in short…,in a word,i think,i expect等

my personal opinions on … are as follows.
here are my personal opinions on …
i’ll tell you my personal opinions on…

thank you very much for your attention。

 Good afternoon ,ladies and gentlemen!

I’m very honored to stand here and give you a short speech! To begin with ,I want to ask a question .Does everybody dream a good dream last night? Actually ,today I want to talk about dream with you. Of course, What I want to talk is not a dream you have last night, but a dream—— about life.

Everyone has dreams about life, different dreams at different life stage, and we need dreams to support us. Dreams are like the stars we never reach in the sky,but like most mariners(水手),we can chart our course by them. With the dream,we have a direction, with a direction, we were no longer confused. With the dream, there is hope,With hope, we have the strength to fight.

But I know, life is tough, and there are always ups and downs, maybe we fail in the way to our aims, and we may feel depressed ,whenever at this time, the dream in our heart can always comfort us, encourage us ,and support us to move ahead .

Young!Fortunately, I am young now. Just due to it, I know that nothing is impossible.I firmly believe that nothing can stand in my way. If I can't realize my dream,it result from that I haven't work harder enough and I won't find other excuses. If no people believe you, you can make it to prove that you are right. If you think the god haven't blessed you and there is no truth here, you can become the god and create the truth.

"My breath swallows the sky and make the yellow river overflow, my sword is famous in Kyushu and it can collapse the five sacred mountains." At some time in the past I also had am bitious words and I had some achievements. Each achievement results from my hard work. I always believe that "If you want to have more achievements than others, you must work harder."

In some extent, the dream is the hope. If you can insist on doing something, the victory will come.

Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren field frozen with snow. So my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams. Whatever it is, pick it up and make it alive from today. Let's take actions!

Thank you for your listening!

Change The Ingredients Of Your Life

This is a glass of water, tasteless, right? However if you add sugar, it will taste sweet, but if you add vinegar, it will become bitter. The same is true with our life the flavor is created by our choices.

If kindness is added to a strange you will have a friend; but if hostility is added, you will have an enemy. If love is added to a pile of red bricks you will have a home, but if hatred is add to those bricks , you will have an concentration camp.

So my dear friends, never complain that life is boring and the world is disappointing. If don’t like the taste of your life, change the ingredients.

Three year ago, I weighed more than 100 hundred kilograms which caused significant embarrassment and frustration in my life. Like always failing my P.E examinations, like always being laughed at by girls, like being terrified to speak in public. It was my grandmother’s encouragement that revived from my passive attitude to become confident in myself. She said “ My dear, if you can’t change you figure, why not treat it as your own style. So I began to cautiously employ the new way of thinking. By choosing to change my outlook on life, I developed the confidence to make a difference and finally I found a totally new world.

So my dear friend, if faith, hope, love, endurance are added to your life, you will find the confidence to conquer your limitation and embrace new challenges. And hopefully with my speech included, you will have a fantastic speech contest.

1.I believe in our future

Honorable Judges, fellow students: Recently, there is a heated debate in our society. The college students are the beneficiaries of a rare privilege, who receive exceptional education at extraordinary places. But will we be able to face the challenge and support ourselves against all odds? Will we be able to better the lives of others? Will we be able to accept the responsibility of building the future of our country?

The cynics say the college students are the pampered lost generation, which would cringe at the slightest discomfort. But the cynics are wrong. The college students I see are eagerly learning about how to live independently. We help each other clean the dormitory, go shopping and bargain together, and take part time jobs to supplement our pocket money.

The cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the need for character cultivation. But again, the cynics are wrong. We care deeply for each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth. Last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.

As college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point in our lives. We all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each will profoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country. I believe in all my fellow classmates. Though we are still inexperienced and even a little bit childish. I believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challenge and take on our responsibilities. We are preparing to assume new responsibilities and tasks, and to use the education we have received to make our world a better place. I believe in our future.

Welcome to the 273rd Princeton University Commencement.

This virtual event is not the ceremony that any of us would have wished for to recognize and celebrate the graduating seniors of the great Princeton University Class of 2020 and the recipients of advanced degrees from Princeton’s Graduate School.

We are, however, happy to have an opportunity today to mark this momentous occasion with our graduating students and with the family members and friends who have supported them throughout their Princeton journeys.

Before we begin, I want to take a moment to offer my deepest sympathy to those who have lost family members or friends to COVID-19. You are in our thoughts and our hearts at this difficult time.

I also want to recognize that all of our graduating students have lost something irreplaceable as a result of the pandemic. As I have said before, I wish that we could give back the special experiences that all of you have missed, and I regret very much that we cannot.

Let me also extend warm greetings to the families and friends of our graduating students. Your support has been indispensable to the success of the students who graduate today. I hope they are applauding you right now, and as I am myself the father of a college senior graduating this year at another university, believe me, I know how much you were looking forward to celebrating your student’s success in person and with trumpets blowing. You can be very proud of what your students have accomplished, and I send my congratulations to you as well as to them.

I wish we could all be together right now on the front lawn of Nassau Hall, and I look forward to the time in the future when we can gather on Princeton’s campus to recognize the extraordinary accomplishments of our graduating students.

For now, however, I am delighted to have this opportunity to celebrate vigorously, enthusiastically, and virtually the recipients of advanced degrees from our Graduate School and the graduating seniors of our great Class of 2020.

A venerable Princeton tradition allows the University president to offer a few words to the graduating students at each year’s Commencement exercises. You’ve all heard more than enough online speeches this spring, so I’ll keep my remarks brief. I would be remiss, however, if I did not say something to mark the special achievements, and the exceptional potential, of this graduating class.

During my own senior year, which was a very long time ago, I chose a quotation from Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr., to accompany my picture in The Nassau Herald. The quote was, “Through our great good fortune, in our youth, our hearts were touched with fire.”

This was a terribly naïve selection on my part. I wanted to say to my classmates that our time together at Princeton had kindled dreams, ideas, and friendships that could inspire us throughout our lives. But when Holmes claimed that he and his generation had been “touched with fire,” he meant that their character had been forged through the searing challenges and tragic deaths of wartime military service. Through that perilous endeavor – and here I will quote the next line from his speech – “it was given to us to learn…that life is a profound and passionate thing.”

My generation experienced nothing like that. For the most part, we had it rather easy.

You graduate in much harder times. The awful contagion that now spreads among us tends to afflict the old more harshly than the young, so you may or may not feel your own life at risk.  Some of you, however, have lost relatives or friends to this virus, or struggled with it yourselves.  Many of you have seen jobs disappear or felt the economic devastation inflicted by this pandemic. Each and every one of you has lost something precious and irreplaceable.

In far too many ways, you have seen how fragile our world is. So much vanished so fast:  scholarly projects, artistic performances, athletic competitions, even the simple pleasures of sharing meals or hugging friends. This ordeal affects us all, but it comes at a particularly formative moment in your lives.

So what will you do with this hardship? The losses are real and painful. What they took from you was beyond your control. What you take from them, however – that is at least partly up to you.

It is thus worth asking: how will you remember these difficult times when you look back on them many years from now? Might you say, do you want to say, after Oliver Wendell Holmes, that “In our youths, our lives were touched by tragedy, and so it was given to us to learn that life is a profound and passionate thing”?

You are already the Great Class of 2020 in the sense that we traditionally call Princeton classes “great”: during your time as Princeton students, you animated this University with your creativity, curiosity, intelligence, aspiration, persistence, and energy. I have no doubt that you will continue to impress us with your achievements in the years to come.

I believe, however, that your class has the chance to be the start of something truly extraordinary, to appreciate anew the value of ordinary human experience and to cooperate afresh for the common good. You enter a world that needs not only your talent, but also your insight, your courage, and your compassion. With those qualities and with the education you complete today, you have the opportunity to chart a new course. I hope you seize that opportunity.

For today, though, I hope simply that you celebrate as exuberantly as circumstances allow. You have persisted in tough times, achieving something remarkable. I send heartfelt best wishes to you now, and I look forward to congratulating you in person next spring.
