On occasions such as Father’s Day, gifts with heart and soul are the most special. This is the reason why, in India and the US, schools organize activities in which students prepare gifts. In Canada, people wear roses as a sign of gratitude to their fathers. They also make donations to charities in the names of their dads. In the UK, Ireland, Australia and South Africa, parties are organized to mark the importance of the role that fathers play in a family. Mexico follows mostly the same traditions as the US, but they do have an extra special event: the Bosque de Tlalpan, a citywide 21-kilometer race that takes place in Mexico City. In Japan, flowers are an important part of the Father’s Day celebrations. Children also give their fathers handmade beer glasses and sweets.
